Solace
In the play of life, I feel like an allegorical
character. Today, and yesterday, and as many yesterdays back as I can remember, I have felt like Solace.
I hold other people, I soothe, I cluck. I remember
little eyes shines, and the barest quivers of lips. I try to paint the world beautiful, and make things seem less sad. Here
I am world. I am Solace.
Give me your pain. I will take it into me, filter
it and give it back, shiny and new, and much more paletable. Break my heart with your sadness, and I will thank you for
the pain. Just a chance, and I will prove there is respite.
